Daltrocanto (Italian vocal ensemble specializing in Renaissance and Baroque repertoire)

~ Group

Annotation

The Daltrocanto vocal ensemble was founded by Dario Tabbia on 1994 with the aim of rediscovering the richness and high artistic value of Renaissance and Baroque vocal music. In addition to respecting historical performance practices, great attention is paid to the cultural and aesthetic aspects of the musical text. Daltrocanto has been quickly recognized by audiences and specialized critics as one of the most interesting Italian groups in its field.

The ensemble has recorded several albums, e.g. dedicated to the sacred music of Orlando di Lasso, the Eighth Book of Madrigals by Sigismondo D'India and music from the Codex of Staffarda, and has participated in some of the most important Italian and international early music festivals (e.g. Bruges, Antwerp, Ecouen, Madrid, and The Hague).
