Sarm East Studios (1973–2013, fka Sarm Studios from 1973–1982)

Sarm Studios was founded in 1973 at 9–13 Osborn Street in Aldgate, and renamed in 1982 as Sarm East Studios after owners Jill Sinclair & Trevor Horn had bought over Basing Street Studios in Notting Hill from Island Records Ltd. which they renamed as Sarm West Studios (1982–2013). The two original studios were eventually succeeded by the Sarm Music Village complex (2013–present) located at 105 Ladbroke Grove, London, UK.

"SARM" is an acronym of "Sound and Recording Mobiles", the business name of a tape copying service that recording engineers Gary Lyons and Barry Ainsworth had operated prior, when they purchased the facility in July 1973, with financing by David Sinclair, father of siblings and co-founders Jill and John Sinclair.

CLEANUP LIKELY NEEDED: there are possibly place-recording relationships here that should be moved to Sarm West Studios instead.
