Lukaskirche (Lutheran church in Dresden, used since sometime after WWII as a recording studio)

~ Religious building

Annotation

The church was damaged by air raids on Dresden on February 13, 1945, and lost its distinctive tower dome. As a result, the church remained unused for some time. Towards the end of the 1950s, it began to be used as a place for orchestra rehearsals and recordings. Between 1964 and 1972, the church was converted into a recording studio for VEB Deutsche Schallplatten Berlin, which in turn often worked on behalf of western record companies. Records recorded there often bear the note Studio Lukaskirche for the recording location. Since 1972, the church has again been used by the Lukaskirche congregation for services. – source: wikipedia
