One of the most regretted premature loss of jazz history, Booker Little had all the qualities to become one of the major trumpeter of the century.
Working closely with Eric Dolphy and Max Roach (after some early appearances with Johnny Griffin and the MJT+3), he took part in the Five Spot miracles (Riverside), most Candid recordings from the early 60's (including Abbey Lincoln's), and in Coltrane's Africa/Brass.
Died 23, he left us only a few records under his own name, Out Front! probably being the best one to start with, although any of his appearances as a sideman are of the highest quality.
