Annotation

Any chance this release is using the earlier version of the Magnificat (BWV 243a in E-flat major)? Movements 3, 7 and 10 do not appear in the later BWV243 version - I think this is OK - all 4 of the interpolations are included in my Barenreiter score, and I have performed them as part of this work

Rachel Elliot (soprano 1), Anna Crookes (soprano 2), Robin Blaze (countertenor), Mark Padmore (tenor), Roderick Williams (bass).

Recorded at BBC Maida Vale Studios, London, 5-7 July 1996.
