The Early Years

File under: for die-hard collectors only. The Early Years is an exhaustive anthology of Danish rockers D:A:D's early years -- pre-worldwide exposure. Besides taking in the highlights from their first two albums, when they were still known by the more extensive moniker Disneyland After Dark, the two-disk, 38-track retrospective offers more than a dozen rarities, spread between demos, remixes, and outtakes. Fans of the group's Warner Bros. albums should take heed that the group's trademark hard rock is rarely on display here; instead, much of this material strikes a twisted and jangly rockabilly style that is, if nothing else, rather original.
