Gary Peacock

~ Person

A very subtle bassist, Gary Peacock started his US carreer on the West Coast, where he met Paul Bley.
Like many others he eventually moved to NYC in the 60's - backing-up Don Ellis, Bill Evans, or George Russel, he then got mixed with the Ayler posse, with whom he recorded a number of landmark contributions to the free jazz history.
After a hiatus in the 70's, he played again from time to time with Paul Bley and other small formations.
